Our English learning this half-term has been based around The Vikings and The Anglo-Saxons topic, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed. They created their own Viking characters and then wrote their own Viking story, based on what they have learnt in English, Topic and Guided Reading. Continuing with our mastery approach to Maths, we have continued to cover multiplication and division, as well as looking at perimeter. Next we will start our fractions topic.
The children have been incredibly excited about starting their swimming lessons, and so far have enjoyed all their sessions. They really are becoming water confident!
In science we investigated sound and the children conducted lots of different experiments.
We also started learning to play the recorder and have now learnt to play a few notes and a few different pieces of music.
Our Viking WOW day was a highlight in which we explored illuminated writing, Anglo Saxon food, learned a Viking rowing song and created some Viking rune jewellery.
