We want our curriculum to enable children to safely and confidently access the breadth of opportunities available in computing. This includes the manipulation of technology to make and do things as well as accessing and applying the wealth of information available.
We want children to be confident and secure when they enter the digital virtual world and know how to protect themselves and others. This aspect of learning crosses over with learning in PSHE.
Implementation
School is committed to the Trusts vision for digital transformation. This vision seeks to transform the curriculum for teaching computing alongside the school and trust’s infrastructure capacity. School intends to deliver the Teach Computing curriculum structure and resources across key stage 1&2 in 2021-22 to develop its computing curriculum. All teachers have undertaken training based on the new curriculum and the Trust that school is part of is developing a network for learning in computing as part of it’s digital transformation strategy. In this first year of using these resources school has selected specific units to use. These resources have been comprehensively supplemented with E-Safety learning from school’s RSHE/PSHE curriculums.
The detail of each computing units can be found by following the links below to the resource and sequence of learning overviews.
